Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, c'est une minie web-série musicale de 3 épisodes, crée par Joss Whedon (Buffy contre les Vampires, Firefly, aux commandes du prochain film regroupant les Vengeurs (Marvel), et au scénario de la série comics Astonishing X-Men) lors de la grève sans précédent des scénaristes aux USA en 2007.

Réalisée en 6 jours avec très peu de moyens, Joss Whedon s'entoure de sa famille (2 frères et une belle-soeur), et on retrouve devant la caméra ses amis Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), Nathan Fillion (Castle, Firefly), et Felicia Day, qui ont accepté de bosser gratuitement.

Avec cette web-série musicale, Joss Whedon a prouvé que le net est un espace rêvé pour les créateurs, que la gratuité ne nuit pas au talent, et qu'il est possible de contourner le système des grands studios de télévision.
